Benchmarks HistoryBenchmark was established in April 2000 as an employment based facility offering places to people with complex and enduring mental health needs.
Quickly the demand for the service grew and the demand for our product increased. Our increase in sales and capacity coupled with effective partnership working has resulted in many empowering opportunities for our members.
Our aim is simple, we are working towards becoming a sustainable Social firm providing opportunities for fulltime paid employment to our members. We hope to achieve this by building on our existing customer base within hospitals and developing a product suitable for mass production.
In addition to this we run accredited courses leading to nationally recognised qualification, providing our members a solid base on which to build their employment profile.
Our AimsBenchmark 'Furniture Design & Build' aim to become a company limited by guarantee with charitable status. It aims to become a national supplier of bespoke furniture to hospitals and local government.
We will achieve this by working in partnership with public, private and voluntary sector partners to develop opportunities for sustainable employment for people with complex and enduring mental health needs and support independent economic enterprise developed by this group.
We will attain this by empowering individuals and enterprise groups to develop an improved quality of life, ensuring a high level of social inclusion locally and nationally. Effective and high quality work will be the standard that ensures sustainable employment through sales. By networking, advice giving, information sharing, project development, training/employing, capacity building and research we aim to establish a 'brand name' through a network of Franchise.
